Well my lovely wife sent me off to Lake of the Ozarks for 2 days. I was a bit anxious because of the lingering winter but excited to get over there for an arm breaking jerkbait bite nonetheless.
In the 19 degree air we launched into 34.6 degree water and fished like a man possessed. The lake was down noticeably several feet and the water was dirty from all the current of pulling it down. At 5:30 the water had warmed up an amazing .7 degree to 35.3. tired, fishless, and biteless we loaded the boat and stuffed down our insecurities at the buffet over at Shoney's.
On day 2 we had a repeat of the cool morning air at 18 degrees. The only thing different was the wind laid overnight and now the entire Grand Glaize arm had a very grand glaze on it,......... ice.

The only water we could access in the Grand Glaize was actually the warmest at 36.9 at the end of the day.
Not to be discouraged we decided to make lemonade but could not find a single lemon anywhere. Zero, zilch, nada !!
Jerkbaits, jigs, shakeyheads, spoons, tubes and dropshots and on and on.
My nice king size bed here at home was quite the refuge I must say.
I know this trip taught me something but I can't quite put my finger on it as I'm sitting here today watching it rain/snow.
