It will be a long shot for me. I'm working Friday & Saturday nights from 3:00 -11:00 pm and my wife works on Sunday nights, but I would love to get out there to take my son. He's been chomping at the bit to go, so we'll see.

Glad to hear you getting out there GMAN. Don't make the same mistake I did on my first outing of the year. Make sure you adjust the brakes, spool tension and drag before you rear back and let one go... ;D

Good luck and post some fish.  ;)

I got forced back into farming and haven't seen the light of day for a while but I just relined 7 setups and have jigs, tubes, jerks and a spinnerbait tied on.  If all goes well at the rental house tomorrow, I'll be on the water Friday.  This will be my first bass outing since last fall.  All I have been doing is chasing specs since Oct.

The wind is supposed to let up to 10-15 with gusts to 25 mph.  That will be calm compared to what we have had for a week now.

Good luck G and J.

Jigman-Farming?  What?

Yep farming.  I quit 15 years ago, sold all of my cattle and rented out the land.  My wife's mom died a while back and left us 1200 acres to take care of an close to 200 wild cattle.  Some of them haven't been seen in at least 2 years.  I have a guy hired full time just trying to settle them down with range cubes so we may be able to sell them some day, build several miles of fence, and rent out the farms.

He has been down there for 6 months trying to settle them down.  Last month I got about 100 of them sold but was lucky and didn't have to corral and load them.  I sold them on the farm and rented the land to the guy who bought them.  Now corralling them is his problem, not mine. ;D

BTW. I have a 3 bedroom brick all electric house for rent if you want to live way out in the country 20 minutes from Table Rock lake. ;)

We have one block that is over 600 acres.  Last fall we took 10 deer off it.  One was a really good 8PT.  We also saw a monster 12 but he was over 350 yds away when I saw him.  My 257 Roberts is zeroed at 200.  That little 100 grain bullet couldn't reach out that far.  If I still had my 25/06 I could have had him.  It was 1/2" high at 200 and on the mark at 300.  But I sold it. :'(

If he survided he'll just be bigger this year.

We must have at least 200 turkeys on it.

If you want to hunt, come on down.  You can bring a tent and camp under the roost trees like Fire Gun and his buddy do.  They dawn gilly suits and stalk them.  ;D

I will be fishing a tournament this Sunday. I hope that my partner and I can finally get more than one keeper in the boat. And, not have all that wind to contend with. Good luck those of you getting out!

Well good luck to all of you guys. I don’t see the tin rig hitting the water again this weekend for sure; they are still calling for 15 to 20 mph winds!
HA JF10 I can relate. Last year the first cast I made created a rather large “overrun”; as if that wasn’t bad enough I picked up second rod and did it again! Thankfully I was alone and didn’t have to suffer the indignities of a witness. ::)

As much as I hate to admit this, pondhopper, this is my third year in a row doing this. There's something about being off the water for 2 1/2 - 3 mos that when I finally get out there my brain goes into temporary vapor lock mode.  ;D

Hope you're able to get there this weekend, Buzzbait, but if not, at least you'll have something to do...

BaseBallFatty and I went to Lake Tuscaloosa. We caught several overall but not much size to them. I caught one on the second cast on a crank and then the crank bite vanished. I was hoping for a late evening buzzbait bite but that didn't happen(caught three or four i think on the trip though) Kev was waxing me on the swimjig. He also had a few on a crank. Overall i enjoyed the outting and got to try out that Sila-flex rod that i inquired about a while back. I will be getting one of those for cranking! I really liked it alot!

P.S.- BBF, We forgot to tighten the nuts on the compartment lock assemblies  ::) I had the big pliers in the truck with me.... Slipped my mind, sorry! We'll get'um soon though!

I forgot all about tightening those up once we were ready to the lake. I guess you could say we were a little anxious to hit the water.  ;D :boat

We flat out skunked out Sunday.....I went with a buddy and we must of have hit up 10 different spots altogether.

It was UNUSUALLY warm.....I made the mistake of forgetting sun block. Got burnt a little bit.

well I caught 4 dinks each day.  I also got some sun.  Sunday was so freaking windy it was almost impossible to fish.
