Bass boat repair
« on: October 15, 2009, 04:03:52 PM »
Hey Jigman, I thought maybe I should carry this on a bit further on a different thread. I didn't want to hijack! I'm probably in the wrong forum too. Sorry but I haven't learned my way around yet.

Anyway I guess I didn't know about the starboard issues. Sorry to hear that things are not going well in that department. I'm not sure what your hope is, (getting out again this year before it ends?) I haven't been out much this fall. I had repair work in the spring of 08 and it turned out to be a nightmare. My insurance company stepped right up to the plate to the tune of 6K. I was impressed. But that's where it ended. I took the boat to a glass shop that was a sponsor on the trail I fish. We don't have a good glass shop here at home that I'm aware of. I'd heard some good things about this shop and it was right in between 3 lakes that I fish. The agreement was to stop by on a Monday morning on my way home after a Tx and drop the boat off. It was supposed to be ready to pick up on Wednesday afternoon a week later as I would be coming by there to pick it up to prefish for a TX. Well I missed that TX  >:( and another one. 6 weeks later I got the boat back in my possession and the work was not done as agreed which included doing some work that was not OK'd. The boat is OK but could have come out nicer looking. I was so steamed I just picked it up as is and left. Well that's my rant. I can tell ya where not to take the boat for glass work but I can't help ya out on the other stuff. Good Luck and should I meet ya at the ramp some morning to get ya on the water?

Steve the nightmare continues.  My boat is back at the shop and I have filed a claim on the starboard side but they want to get the auto side (Yehaw who hit me, same company) to fix it.  So do I.

The auto side agreed to pay my deductible (isn't that showing fault).

The guys in the shop have the welder coming this week.  I hope the ok is given early next week to fix it or the big SSSS word is coming out.
