Dog Daze Fishing - Just Sharing
« on: July 21, 2011, 05:54:27 PM »
Well we're into the heat waves we experienced last year and the water is HOT. Last year the bites were tough to come by, I tried everything: Slow/finesse soft plastics, topwaters early and late in the day, smaller baits, etc. All worked somewhat, but I read an article on spinnerbait fishing during this time that I thought would never work. I tried it last year during the hottest periods and again this year. The results have been awesome. Drop a blade size on your spinnerbait and burn it as fast as you can with an occasional pause. Heck, pop your rod so the lure comes out of the water and let those blades clank away and resume your retrieve.

Give  it a whirl sometime! Saved many fishless days for me.

Hope this helps and good luck out there.  :)

the pop is the key I think.  That is a killer smallie retrieve.  I've never tried it for largemouth in the summer.  I'll try it next time I go.   Thanks

Yup its hot.  Real hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
