You would not believe the day I was having…..Hit after hit and all coming on a jig!
I was pitching to holes in the weeds and just about every pitch was landing perfectly in that sweet spot which almost guaranteed a hit. With the sun sitting at about one o’clock position over my right shoulder I could see each hole perfectly; the wind was gently pushing me from hole to hole when suddenly I saw it. The hole was about three feet in diameter and almost perfectly round. I lowered my rod then raised it in perfect cadence with the jig swinging out of my right hand; it landed so softly that there was barely a ripple. I was impressed that I hadn’t lost the skill over the long, bone chilling winter and watched as my ½ oz. Black/Blue G-mans jig with a Zoom Super Chunk  sank into the hole. Then it happened; the fish that hit was a freight train heading south! I knew I was in for a good fight and I quickly reeled down to stop the run and set the hook. I’m using my heavy  rod and 65 pound braid so I was unafraid; My left arm jerked back and

………….I woke up!

I have got to get out! ::)

We are loading up the camper today and heading for Stockton Lake.  I have a site reserved down by the dam for a week's bass fishing.  Then we are moving up into the Little Sac River to meet Bigfoot and his wife for 2 weeks of crappie fishing.  Buzz I guess my report will be a little late.

The long range weather says it will be like last year; dodging storms all week long.  Last year I never go a full day in because of the storms popping up evey few hours but the fish did bite when I could be on the water.

A lot of rain and wind up here. Very raw. Looks like fishing this weekend will be watching it on television or re-reading pondhopper's post!

Pondhopper, you had me hook, line and sinker...ROFL...Well done!

Lots of rain and wind here too! Friday afternoon was an eventful day for severe weather accross our state. We had a tornado come through T-town which caused a lot of damage. It pretty much followed the same path as a tornado we had back in 1975. I didn't have any damage where i live though. Had to work saturday and have "to do's" to do today.

I guess i should have added "or a written excuse why you didn't get to go" to the original post,  ;D

Pond, I knew it from the start, lol.

JM, keep us posted! and have a good time!

My partner and I fished the club tournament at Herrington Lake yesterday despite wind, rain and cooler temps we fared well. We caught six keepers that went 14.50# and won the tournament. Second place had over 13# and big fish over 5# and third place had over 12#. Our three teams were the only ones with a limit. This win put us in the running now for angler/team of the year but there are still 10 tournaments left.

Great report Carter !  Hoppy, I'm happy to read your posts but I'm seeing that sense of humor there.  ;D
I didn't get out . I'm putting tires on the truck today and I'll get out Wednesday if the weather permits and I have any $ left.

Glad you got to go G. The weather around here hasn’t been very cooperative and most I’m hearing from tell me that these wild temperature swings have kept the fishing really messed up. Add the wildly fluctuating water levels and I’m glad you caught anything.
I can’t remember the last time I saw the Ohio stay flooded this long. It had just dropped last week and is again back up above flood stage. I sure you encountered a lot of debris from all the flooding.

I will be glad when our rivers and lakes get back to normal. All these storms just keep coming through one after the other with maybe a day or two reprieve.
