Give and Take
« on: August 08, 2010, 06:37:16 PM »
Well , Rachel's hair had begun to thin & fall & her wigs have arrived. He son Nathan would have been 32 if he were still living today. One of his best friends in his circle married Fri. night down in Wichita. Her son's father was a groomsman in Nathan's  place. We did not attend the ceremony. Many of Nathan's friends who had scattered all across the country over the years all came together for this wedding.

Rachel was lamenting a bit over having to cut her hair when I suggested we go down to a Sat.evening get together in Wichita and let her son's friends be part of her cutting her hair and shaving down to the bald scalp.  She really perked up and thought it was a neat idea. So off we went.

I had my alarm set for 4:00 to go fish a small city lake with my friend Ron.  We made it back home at 1:37 A.M. and I rolled back out at 4:00 A.M. It was a bit difficult but it paid off good.

Rachel really enjoyed the garden party with Nathan's friends and the head shaving ritual was a real positive experience for her and the gang.  For my part I had a short night but we  managed to catch 1 smallmouth and 29 largemouth  in the boat & numerous others that didn't completely make it into the boat.  The buzzbait was the tool of choice and most fish were 15-17". I had one that went 20.5" and might have made 5lbs. It was a blast, the fish were healthy and aggressive, &

After returning home at 11:30 A.M. , lunch & a short nap I got absolutely nothing else done for today. I guess that's OK since the ox is in the ditch.

Rachel is doing fine.  Taking her down to the garden party created a short night for me but really paid off for her and for us.
