HOT!
« on: June 21, 2010, 04:56:22 AM »
No not the fishing, the weather. I went fishing Friday and Sunday mornings and man was it hot. Friday I caught a 4.6lb large mouth swimming a 3/8oz black/blue/chartreuse G-Man jig around 12‘ deep. Sunday my scale gave up on me, so the biggest I managed measured at 15 ˝”. I caught them by chasing baitfish around the lake and throwing a 1/4oz green/black/chartreuse jig with a 3” green grub.
It was dead calm Sunday so moving around the lake even with only a t-motor felt good. The water temps were 86* to 87* and my little tin boat was around 130*!
Both days I was out from sunrise to noon. I would have gone in earlier both days but Friday some idiot locked his keys in his truck as he was loading his boat. It’s a one boat ramp! His truck was cooled off when he got in it. It only took about an hour for the locksmith to get there. Sunday everybody decided to leave at the same time. With around 25 boats on the lake I was 21st in line. ::)

Nice catchin;, Scott!  The heat index yesterday was 105, and I stayed in most of the day.  Drove by Pee Wee around 10am and the water was as smooth as glass.  There was one guy putting his straps on his boat to head home, so he got off the water early.  No other boats out there.  I'm guessing due to the heat.  Mine has yet to get wet this season.   ::)

Hoppy that was for sure a good fish.  We are having lots of heat right now.  From 6-8 each am in the garden I completely sweat through all my clothes.

I've been wantin' to fish the moon this week but nights are only getting down to about 75° and  the though of sweating all night long is not drawing me to the lake.

We just had a storm tear through here and now the sun is out. Guess that means the heat and humidity will shoot back up.

It is suppose to be high 80's, low 90's Thursday and Friday, but the temp is going back up to 95 on Saturday.

Our entire area is under a “Heat Advisory” for the next couple of days. Temps have been running in the high 90’s along with humidity around 50 to 60%. When your workplace starts supplying the people with ice cream and telling everyone to take extra breaks you know it’s HOT!
Friday it’s dropping down to 95* so I’m taking another “heat relief” day and going fishing. ;D

Forecast (although it's never close) for next week, starting on Tuesday, the temps around here are supposed to drop into the mid to upper 80's.  Let's hope so.    :pray

We have a "big cold front" coming our way.  Temps are supposed to go from 95° for highs and 75° for lows to 90° and 70°.  I'm looking for my long johns in case I go fishing Thursday night. ;D

Go get'um JM! That's, if ya go!?

We have 2 water fountains in each of the outer bays(actually 6 plant wide) and 3 Gatorade stations throughout the shop during the hot months. Thankful for it too!  :whew

Greg let me put it this way; We have three large refrigerators and the freezers in all of them are chock full of every kind of ice cream you can think of. We have a rather large plant manager and an even larger safety technician  that do the stocking. Dem boys like to eat! ;D

We could use a little cool down. Last time out the water was at 87* so I’m betting it will be close to 90*+ this weekend. If you eat what you catch your in luck around here; their half cooked when you get them in the boat. ::)
