It only took 2 days

I've been fishing after work for a couple of hours for the past 2 nights. I got to this spot last night -

- and got my tube ripped off my hook twice (no hook-ups) and couldn't get another bite.

Went back today and same thing, 2 bites, no hook-up and no more bites after that. I gave the spot a rest and went back about an hour and a half later. Here she is:

You can see that the lilly pads create like a horseshoe and I got here right in the middle of it. Getting her thru those lillies was a chore to say the least...LOL

Sorry about the cell pics, but it was the only way I could fit her on my screen.

Way to go! You're right about lily pads. If you don't have heavy enough line or braid on you will most likely lose the fish.

Nice fish and nice place.  We don't have any vegetation in our lakes, just moss from septic tanks and farmers fertilizer. ::)

Thanks for the kind posts all.  :)

This is the first time in the 15 years I've been fishing this water body that I caught a bass in that spot. The lake seems like it changes from year to year. Weedines are never in the same spot, the bass have been shifting from spots to spots. It's like learning the lake every year. It's weird. Certainly makes it interesting.

Happy fishing all.

Jig there is a place on the lake I fish that has always given up at least one three pounder to a G-Man 3/8 oz. Black/Blue jig every time I’m out. This year I haven’t had a bite there yet. Splain that would ya?
We had extremely high water this year and it has really altered the growth pattern of the weedy lake I fish.

I'm not sure what to make of it. For about 6 years straight I can go to this section of the lake where a little feeder creek comes in and catch a fair amount of fish, as a matter of fact Easter of '10 I caught my then PB there. This year I'm lucky to get a legal size fish.

The North side used to produce like crazy and the past 3 years it's dead. Lucky to get a Senko fish out of it. I can't figure it out. Some areas had an abundant of weeds and some had none. Now, it's all shifted.

This 24 acre water body is only 6 miles from the house, I guess I can't complain, I get to learn it time and again.
