It was a realllllyyyy bad day.
« on: September 10, 2009, 05:39:27 PM »
It was between fronts so I decided to give the buzz bait a try up the river.  I only fished until noon and caught 9 so so bass.  I had a few misses and some came unbuttoned.

The bad day came on the way home.  Some red neck gal pulled out of a stop and rob right into my trailer.  She would have hit me in the door of the truck if I hadn't had a Duramax and floored it.

I haven't got estimates yet but it looks like a couple of thousand to me.  What doesn't show it the 6' damage to the rub rail and the cap.  It will cost at least a thousand by itself.

I am awaiting an adjuster who better call in the morning. >:(

Boyyyy,...between the storm damage & this,..you are having about 10 years worth of repairing, all in one season!!   Sorry to see it, but at least there's no injuries.  Good luck with the repairs,..hope you can get it done fast!

That is not good, sorry to see it but as said at least you are o.k.  Can't tell but did she get the boat too or just the trailer?

And Jack I wouldn't doubt it one bit, I see it all the time here, being up higher driving the truck, you look over and see the phone in one hand one hand on the wheel and the eyes on the phone!!!!! >:( >:( >:(

Probably!

That sucks Jigman.  Atleast no one was hurt.  I would think you would get a new trailer out of the deal.

Upon closer inspection, I found that the cap and side are seperated.  I'm going to have to get a real good glass man to take a look at it.  Meanwhile, INSURANCE adjusters are slowly talking and over 200 miles away from me.

If she would have hit my boat I would ask her to back up and hit it again.

Well the update is she is now saying that I hit the front of her truck with my boat trailer.  I just hope we can get the highway patrol report to the adjusters so I can get on with this thing.

I took the boat to Champion Marine Repair today.  They are going to make it seaworthy Monday morning so I can get to my week at Pommy.

That little favor got them the complete job including trailer repair and painting.

Have a great trip JigMan! (assuming they did get it seaworthy) catch a bunch.....Take some pics here! (of the repairs, too!)

I finally got my first buzzbait bite in sat.'s tourny....It came unbuttoned right at the boat. It would have went close to 3. :'(

Thanks buzz.  The boat is supposed to be repaired today.  I'm leaving in about 10 minutes to be there by 8:00.  Hopefully, it will only take a hour or so.  We are leaving in the morning for a week's fishing at Pomme de Terre.  The bite is supposed to really be on in the coves.  I HOPE SO!

Well the estimate came in and the total repair bill is $6,700.  That is way more than I thought it would be but they said they would have to redo at least 16' of my port side cap and replace the rub rail in addition to the side work and the trailer work.

The other driver and I have the same ins. company and I am still getting the run around because this red neck yehaw won't return their phone calls and the are giving her 45 days to do so.

I pitched a fit and changed agents.  The new agent said he may have something settled by tomorrow, he'd let me know.

I sure would like to get the rig scheduled into the glass shop and get if fixed before the really good fall sandie bite gets going.

That's a lot of moolah$! Glass work aint cheap. A couple years back mine got loose in some high water and high wind and wound up bobbing around on the rocks. Interestingly enough that's pretty close to what my insurance had to shell out to repair and clean up my rig. I'm guessing you'll probably use a glass shop in Springfield. If not I can tell you where not to take it but don't want to post it on here. Good luck.

The whites have been busting up pretty good on the Rock for a while now. You goin after yours at Pommy or Bull?
