Ok restart: who's going fishing "this" weekend ;D

I have our annual two day team tournament this weekend, total weight both days wins.
Supposed to be half decent weather with the threat of a T-storm later each day but otherwise pretty nice.

Went to pick up the boat Thursday night, was planning to leave this morning.  Blew a brake line in the truck right in the driveway. >:(  Watched the fluid pour out and my planned vacation along with it.  So, I'm just going to completely rebuild brake system this week and go next weekend.  What a bummer!!  Probably rain the whole time when I do get up there now. ???

I went yesterday for a short….and that’s what I caught! 3 between 2 and 2.5 and several really short ones. I ended up staying a bit longer than I planed because they were having a “fishing derby” at the park and several kids were fishing on and around the ramp. I sure didn’t want to get in their way. There were screams of “I GOT ONE” all around that area. (The kids…..not me)  ;D

We were out of town again this past weekend, staying at my BIL's in Louisville.  Fished his private pond again and I caught one bass about 12" long, my wife caught 1, lost 2, BIL caught a couple, and of course his 8 yr old son caught one Saturday evening...........................2lb 10 oz, 19" long LM.  He was using a 4" blue hook-tail worm on a spin cast rig.   Had fun and relaxed some.  This morning I was out at the school for awhile watching my 5 yr old at his first day of basketball camp and he looked to be having fun, but I had to leave because he kept wanting to talk and wave at me instead of listening to the coach.  My wife and I are taking 3 grandkids (5, 4, & 2 yr old) to the Chattanooga Aquarium this Friday.  That should be an interesting trip, lol.   :) .  Raining here at the moment, so no boat fishing today, plus at 1300 today I have an appt to get the oil changed in the truck.

Enjoy your trip and ALL them grandkids! That’s nearly a bunch.
We have had around 3 to 3 ˝ inches of rain at the house in the past week. Your yard should be lookin good when you get back.  :o

Well me and my Buddy ended up finsihing in 4th place for the 2 day tournament.

we ended up with 19 fish for 39.1 lbs.

44 lbs won it.

We couldn't get that 10th fish on Saturday, and on Sunday we got a limit by 9. The second fish was a 4.5 (Gman's Jig and a3" pinchit) missed lunker on day two by 3 oz with that fish >:( my buddy got a 3.15 smallie on saturday and we missed lunker saturday by 5 oz  >:( Unfrtunately we only culled 2 fish, just couldn;t upgrade any of our smaller ones.

It was odd, Saturday in the 1st lake we did not catch one fish on a jig, Sunday I caught everyfish, I think 9 on G's Jig with my black pinchit.

I took off yesterday and today as after 17 hours of fishing  8.5 each day I knew I was going to worthless. But I debated going yesterday and thought I would take a can of corn down and try from the dock for some carp and sit and relax.
As soon as I got my second line out I had one on the 1st rod, 17 lber on the scale, then 5 minutes later a 9 lber. had two others on and they pulled off,  and two runs but misses a little later.
Headed back down there for a little this morning as I think I got there a little to late yesterday.

Shouldn't be too bad a trip as I figure the youngin's will be asleep after we're on the road for awhile.  Yep, my yard is already way ahead of me again.  Raining, thundering, and occasional lightening at the moment, as we're getting that storm system coming across from MO. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad.

Sounds like y'all still had a good day, and 4th ain't too shabby.   :)

Nice!

well yesterday was not a carp day, not sure what happened, but only got 1 at 14 lbs on the scale. I brought a rod to fish some craw worms that I molded to keep me busy while waiting, not much of a sit and wait guy, about a half hour in I got a smallie that was maybe 3.5 pounds, didn't bother weighing him.

Then about an hour later I was working the worm in and it stopped dead, I paused for 1 second and felt something alive, I set the hook and it was dead weight, rod bent, thought hmmmm... snag? then I felt nothing at all but saw my line rising and then Houston we had a lift off as a Giant smallmouth came flying out of the water :o :o :o

I started reeling and man this thing was going bananas, it was insane, every time it jumped it landed flat on it's side and it was like someone was throwing boulders in the water, got it in and netted it. Luckily I had a point and shoot camera in the truck with a self timer on it. Weighed it on the scale it was 5.4 :o

Aggravated, I just uploaded the pics to add and they are very crappy  :'( :'(

need to pp them a little and I'll put them up

Hi, I heard from Grimlin that you used to make beavers but had to close shop unfortunately. I was wondering if you still had the stuff to make them still. I might be interesed in buying some if you can send me some pics. I'm looking for public uncommon brands and people like you who made them to buy some from.
