Still using up my vacation time!!
I left work at noon yestarday when I saw that the weatherman had nailed it once again again! (NOT!! )  He called for a bright sunny day and it turned out to be completely overcast,....so I went home, hitched up the boat and headed out!   Even though the weather has been cooling off,..the weeds (milfoil & lily pads) were still pretty thick so i threw a frog over them for the first 45' or so without a sniff before I switched up to my  usual cast of characters:  jigs, DS & swimbait.
Although it took me almost an hour more to get dialed in (or maybe they just turned on at that point...) but once the ice was broken,..it was fairly nonstop for the next 4 hours or so.  I got nothing on the swimbait,..just a couple on the dropshot and most of the fish on jigs.  I ended up with 13 total,..including a 5-lber and two more that were between 3-4lbs.  Unfortunately I left the camera at home, so no pics,..but a pretty awesome afternoon otherwise!
The jigfish were pretty evenly divided between one that was my standard black (just a little blue in the trailer..) and a greenpumpkin/brown mix.  Everything was on the bottom at the outside weedline around 12-14 FOW,...I think I only got one while swimming the jig up shallower!

Good goin'.  The bite here has been on the bottom most of the time.  Though I still can't get them to hit my jigs with any regularity.  They seem to want plastic.
