The last choice on the first day
« on: March 11, 2011, 10:37:30 PM »
Finally, Finally made it to the lake today. The water was not quite ice,  38.7 at 8Am. Fished deep secondary points and 45  degree chunk rock out to 25" . Used a LC Pointer 100 , a pointer slender 78. Used a football jig with a chompers trailer. We fished a transition from a 45 chunk rock to a spawning flat with the above baits. We went back through it again with 1/4 oz Owner Sled Head and a cotton candy Fat Albert grub. We also used Berkely power bait shad colored grub on the sled head. Nothing ! zilch ! NADA !!
I had to start eating. Always happens about 2 hrs in.  The temp had nudged up to 39 something and while I was stuffing my pie hole it dawned on me that the transition bank was the right spot but the bait that got overlooked was the deep running jerkbait. Voila !  They ate it good enough I managed to get a limit and we had 8 between us. Back home by 2 PM.

Bass don't eat what they don't see.

GETFISHED !!!
