I would say I caught one on a JitterBug last but I couldn't tell you when. Actually my first fish was caught on an old black jitterbug on Lake Jordan.

Maybe tomorrow? Last time out it was cloudy and windy so I stayed with top water. I used a lure called “Hellraiser”, blade front and rear. I might try a jitterbug if it’s overcast.

As good as those two lures were in the past i don't think i've tied on the jitterbug in probably 15 years, and the hula-popper pretty close to that time frame. Now, with all the fish i've caught on both of them over the years, prior to just not using them anymore, it's time to give them another go at it. I've got two of each, so i'm going to fish them more. A broke-back minnow too!

You never know, last year my mid 1990's spit'n image was killing them. Give it a shot? This year at some point I was gonna give the Lucky 13 a go.

Man, we used to kill em on the old broke back minnow. I bought one about 3 or 4 years ago and it's never been tied on. I might have to try some of the older stuff because the baits I'm using now sure aren't working.

I know a fellow at work that said his wife still uses the old broke-backs (she never did quit using them) and when she does get to go(more regular than we do probably!!) she usually catches fish on it.

I was night fishing a small lake years ago near it's dam. That area was situated in a pocket off the main body of the small lake. 2/3rds way back into the little pocket they were stacked up in there that night like crazy. Caught tons of fish that night on the Hula-Popper, and a few of them were 3 to 3 3/4 lbs. That was fun!

Haven't ever fished a jitterbug. I was always a skeptic. I used to fish a hula popper in a sandpit at night back when I was  a teenager. It's been a while.

Bass don't eat what they don't see.

Steve, my brother and I used to walk the banks of Lake Texoma at night and throw nothing but jitterbugs. We would set a Coleman lantern behind us and cast out into the dark water. We were kids back then; I’m not sure my heart could take that kind of excitement now! :o

I've used jitterbugs at night, with cloudy conditions to maximize its potential. I have only used it at night around tree lines, vegetation growth and lily pads with effectiveness. The best selling colors are frog, black, and perch. Now, ironically a gentlemen went outside the box  a few days ago and caught a 6.5# bass on a Hula Popper. I saw it myself, and could'nt really believe it. He fished it in open water without any outlying cover or vegetation, oh BTW he caught it midday under sunny, hot conditions- go figure. Just goes to show when you think and map some things out, an anomally breaks a theory. Go for it try one out, you never know when or where they'll hit, but speaking for me- Yes I have caught Bass at night on the Jitterbug. It takes just a little technique to make it look like a struggling creature on the surface.  Have fun!!!!
A dropshot is irresistable to Bass when worked correctly!
