Battery woes
« on: April 23, 2006, 09:46:54 AM »
Looks like I need new batteries. My Trojans (6 years old now) won't take a full charge anymore and I don't have the power supply to equalize them.  :'( I think that's all they need, but that charger is way to expensive.

The ones I'm looking at are called AGM and are supposed to be better than regular open-celled lead acid. But then I think I need a new charger ("smart" kind??)

Anyway I really don't want to drop 3 bills on batteries then even more for the new charger. Arggg. Man what an expensive hobby I gots meself into. ::)

Na its not that bad,  Try duck hunting :$ :$

I sold off my duck hunting stuff because it was so expensive.

On the batteries its probably the better way to go. Its just the initial investment

6 yrs sounds like you got your $$ worth out of them   :) .  I've heard the Trojans are some good batteries.

I use the deka brand and don't have no trouble at all with them.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Never got into hunting, but many of my friends are. You're right Gman, that's an expensive hobby!

Trojans are a good battery IMO. Found out Minn Kota's are made my Trojan.

Never heard of Deka, thanks buzzinbass.
