When you say extended, do you mean a high-rise casting platform or did you just run the normal deck back further toward the console? (just trying to get a better minds eye on what you have done)

I've added a couple to boats and all I ever did was carpet them like the boat.  I really don't understand what you mean when you state padding.

cutbait, Here's what I did a couple years ago. It aint the prettiest but it works. It's just some anti-fatigue mat that I screwed down in a place or two.

A lot of new bass boats have a padding underneath the carpet on the front deck of the boat. My guess would be to get a sheet of padding and glue it down to the floor or the front deck and then glue the carpet on top of the padding. Post a few pics if you can because I'd like to see how you did it.

Cut, I checked several sites and the only "boat padding" that i have seen so far is :

http://www.clarkmarine.com/CarpetPadding.pdf

I'm sure there is something you can put under your carpet that will do what you need!

You know, that is a great idea putting padding down. Think about how many hours we stand on the deck when fishing. ;)

Cut,

I saw a picture where a guy took a piece of padding and glued it to a piece of carpet that matched the carpet on his front deck. He didn't glue it to the deck of the boat. He took several snaps/buttons and screwed then to the outside edge of his boat and just snapped it down over the unpadded carpet on the deck of his boat. When he was done he just unsnapped it and took it off.
