Saved a boat Sat.
« on: April 17, 2006, 03:25:25 PM »
I was fishing in a cove right next to the boat ramp and I saw a guy messing around with his boat.  I looked over again and saw the boat about 15 ft from the ramp.  I thought well I guess he has a rope tied to it to move it over.  NOPE, he yells over to me and says "Can you help me please I have a run away".  I said "well  I'm fishing and its not my problem"  Just kidding.  ;D I said sure so we trolled out there and I jumped from my boat to his and trolled it back to the dock. Then my brother picked me up and back to fishing.  What a day. If I wouldnt have been there he would have had to run all the way down the lake to pick it up when the wind blew it down there.

Yep, its a good thing you were there. Could you imagine your boat blown clear across a lake and no one to help you out right away. Then when you finally get help, you go looking for it only to discover it GONE. Someone had found it with the keys and thought, "Wow, this is my lucky day".

Add a not so friendly gator at the ramp and see how far that boat will float ... every morning when I launch I have to chase an 8' gator off the ramp .... you can bet that I'm real careful to hook my boat to the trailer when I launch ...  8)

i put the boat in the water and unhook it then jump into it then tie it to the dock itself then i pull the truck and trailer out of the water i never  did trust dumping it off then retrieving it later I'd rather take the time to take it off myself and tie it to the dock then move the vehicle
