What should I ask?
« on: June 28, 2007, 07:33:27 PM »
Thought about selling my Champion, which is a 87 model with a 50 horse Evinrude and all the extras like Motorguide trollin' motor Lowrance and Hummin' bird fish finders. The boat is almost in perfect condition especially for the year it is. It has a few small scratches that I have not tried to buff out yet and the rest looks great. I thought about asking around $4000.00 or so. Any ideas on what a boat like this goes for?

Check the N.A.D.A. Blue Book site, they may have info there to help you decide or just use a figure close to what your tax bill says it is worth. :shrug

I went to the NADA site recently looking at what they say my Tracker is worth.  They had my boat listed but with just a 25hp motor, and I didn't see where I could change it to a different hp.  Is there a way to do that?

Just fudge the number a little higher if your engine is bigger. :)

They give price for just motors only also, so check that and add in the difference.

Msb,

Post a picture of your boat if you have one.  Would love to see it, being a Champ man myself.   The older Champs are still in high demand.

Not a real good picture but it's all I could find in my pictures. It's a 16 ft single console

Thats a nice boat.   Didn't know they made a 16' that year.

If your going to sell it I would list it on Bass Boat Central.

Well you got me wondering about the size so I glanced at the title and it says it's a 15.5 so I guess I was wrong. I'm looking for a little bit bigger boat(Champion) but I'm not sure exactly how big I want to go. I have two boys that keep growing and with my wife and I and the two boys that boat just keeps getting smaller it seems!! I like the gas mileage and the way it pulls so I hate to get anything too big cuz I'm afraid my ol' Ford would have a hard time pulling some of those big hills on the way to the lake. Anyway, do you have any pics. of your Champion handy?

Mine is a 18' 1" , and to me its too small. I need more storage.  I want at least a 198 if I get another.

Here is a picture....
