Stan Sloan Cordless Black Light F/S
« on: July 07, 2008, 01:24:13 PM »
Super Wormer model. Cordless, plugs into jacks mounted on boat gunwale. I upgraded mine to LED's. I don't have the plugs, but you can pick up most anywhere. I paid $139.00 new, used one season, perfect condition, will sell for $80.00. Email me for pics.

Which LED did you get?  I am planning on starting making my own LED fishing lights very soon.

Is it the Nite III?   I've wondered how they perform.
Its very similar to the one I am making.

yep, I've really liked it. It will light up the world! Much brighter. I have been surprised how much better LED's are.

Are those lights on the Nite ii LED UV?

Radio Shack pretty much sells everything you need to make your own, except for a case.   My cousin made one that is awesome, using a combination of UV and white lights, which is what I plan to do.   You can make one for less than $20.

I am going to make mine run off rechargable batteries, so I dont have to plug it in and can take it with me anywhere and use it, since I fish with someone else quite a bit.

Once I get it made and perfected I may start offering them to you guys if anyone is interested.

I am also planning to buy some LED light bulb for my boat but I am confused about a water resistant brand. I can’t also decide what color I should put into my boat if red, blue or white. Could anyone here help me to decide about it?

I would go with white, just because they put out more light.

Not all assemblys of LED lights fixtures are water proof.   Most will say it though if they are.

You might also ask this question in the bluewater led section of the site and let Mike give you an answer.

Mine have UV LED's (Blacklight), and white ones. With the white ones on too, it is really bright. Heres a link.
