4/19/07--One Topwater Bass
« on: April 19, 2007, 05:03:05 PM »
Went to my former boss's pond this afternoon;  high 80s, light wind, partly cloudy. and bright sunshine.  Tried several lures at the deep end and then mid-pond with no takers.  Got to the shallow(3-4'), upper end and started throwing a Viva Pencil(Japanese, 1/4 oz popper) lure.  She rolled on it at about 3:30 PM but I didn't know it was a nice one until I got her to the shore.

Got 2 or 3 more small ones on the same bait and then headed home.

You got that right Jack! ;D  I am truly fortunate to have my former boss as my friend.  He allow's me to fish his two ponds any time I wish to and since I'm retired now, I get to do just that more often than before.

Thanks y'all.  Yea, I was a little surprised that she hit a topwater with those conditions.

Forgot to post that she weighed 6 lbs, 5 oz and was 25" in length.
