5.22 Fish Pics and Cheesecake
« on: May 22, 2006, 06:41:30 PM »
Good thing we weren't keeping score today 'cause if we were Bettie kicked my butt w/ three nice bass vs. my one ... all three came on a tri-colored 4" Yum Dinger that had been dipped in both Red and Chartreuse CB's Hawg Sauce ... I left the middle white ... the first one was Bettie's personal best ... Bettie played all three like a pro ...  8)

To the pro fisherwoman congrat;s are in order.

To you Chester I have no words of help, but you can not let this type of action continue are you will lose your standing as a bass fisherman.

Bettie  Great job keep kicking his butt every chance you get, show him who is boss even if we know he does not.

Thanks for sharing story and pictures.

Looks like the second pic that bass was caught on a creature bait or lizard in green pepper flake or green of some kind and not a senko dyed red and chartreuse? Bet none of you guys caught that  ;D the first thing i do is look for the bait to see what they caught it on so i can buy some. ;D

You're right I was mistaken on that one ... we fished most of the day w/ the 3 colored Yum Dingers but that fish was caught on a Yum Wooly Hawg Tail (dipped in CB's Hawg Sauce of course) ... I usually start the day w/ 2 different soft plastics tied on to see which one is gonna be most productive ... the fish in the second photo was her first catch of the day ... the fish in the 1st photo (2 hands) was Bettie's Personal Best ... mine was caught towards the end of our day when I tossed one near a lily pad and the fish hit it the moment it landed ... I gotta get at least one of those a day when I take Bettie out ... it keeps her humble ... ;D

Chester question for you looking at your picture are you fishing out of a 2 person plastic bass boat.

What brand is it and how do you like it I just got one, had to sell my big rig getting to much to handle.

George ... It is a Leisure Life 11.3.  It's sold under many names, the only important part is the 11.3 ... it doesn't like a lot of wind or large waves.  It is perfect for one and works well for two.  Get's great gas 'mileage' w/ the 15 hp Merc I have on it and flies at 1/2 throttle ... only negative I've found is the need for a trailer to launch cause I can't muscle it around by hand ... the shell is durable but can be scratched ... all in all, I love my little Rubbermaid Bathtub ... especially it's ability to float in about 8" of water ...  8)

It does have good storage ... I bought it used ... the original owner had moved the gas tank and battery to the positions you see them in and that allowed the two side compartments to be used for storage ... it's nice not having to unload the boat when I get home ... it has an onboard charger so all I do when I get home is plug it in and loosen the tie downs ... 8)

Thanks Chester for information and pictures boat looks great.

I am senior citizen and was having problem with large rig, sold it and purchased a Pelican Boat I call it the green monster, I am a present customing it to fit my needs almost complete.

I have not had it out yet. ( In my area lots of people think I am crazy to go to a small boat;.)

It is either that or no boat and bank fish and after long deliveration I deceided I like fishing in a boat and bank fishing would be harder on me if I could figure out a way to launch and recover a boat and maintain it.  Answer to my problem was 5 x8 Utility trailer  awsome going to make launch and recovery a breeze.  Trailer is about 14 in from ground boat weights about 150 ??? I think, I am even installing a system of rollers so I can just roll the boat off trailer and even a wench to pull it back on if I need it.

Thanks again the more I am on forums the more fisherman I have met that fish out of economical boats that is what I call the green monster, they do have draw backs but plus out weigh the minus.

I really like Pelican boats and it sure beats fishing from the shore ... try to get a real simple charging system for your battery because that will make it even easier to use.  Lightinrod uses a boat like that and he catches some mighty fine bass out of it ...  8)
