7/16/06--HOT Time Bassin'
« on: July 16, 2006, 02:25:53 PM »
Went to a new-to-me pond yesterday and caught three, the biggest a 2lb, 5 ouncer.  Very frustrating?

Today though was a Hot time, both weather-wise with a high temp of 100 degrees F and Bassin'-wise as they were hitting left and right for the first hour or so.  Got to the swamp pond at 10 AM and left at 1 PM, all wrung out.

Started catchin' several on a T-rigged ZOOM Speed Worm.  Didn't take any pics of those under 2 lbs and there were quite a few of those too.

Started throwing a shallow runnin', chartruse cr/bait and caught several with it.  Two hit it as it landed before I moved it.

I threw a frog on the pads and had 3 blow-ups but no fish on.  The pads were folded over and laying on top of each other as the water had dropped to its lowest point I've ever seen here.  Three or four months without any rain will do that to this pond.

 Yesterday's 2 lber

 Today's 2 lber

 Again

 18 incher

 Another 2 lber

 3 lber--I think?

 4 lber

 4 lber

 cr/bait

 Same

 2 lber

Good work LR!
I took my bosses (wife) son out Saturday and yes it was HOT but we were the only boat on the water. Caught a couple before the boy (24 yrs old) started complaining that it was getting to hot for him. He  caught his personal best for the year so it wasn?t a bad trip.

Hey winter is just around the corner and then we can complain about cabin fever and the baitmonkey, but for know get on to the heat index, I did not even put my head out the door today.

Just relaxed and enjoyed the A.C.  and checked out BPS sale on Bagleys lures, do not need any but 50 % off what a bargin.

I will not be temped  ::2 ::2 ::2 ::2 ::2 ::2
