Man! Talk about late to the party????.

My name is Scott and I am an Electron Transmission Specialist. (figure that one out?)
59 years old, 1 wife, 2 daughters, 5 grandkids, and one very active 80 year old mother!
While I will admit to not being very good at it my passion is bass fishing. Largest ever; 8 pounds even.
My main fish holes are strip pits and small state lakes in Indiana and Kentucky. Larges bass so far this year; 3.3 pounds.

Brian James, I live in Whiteland, IN.  I grew up down near Crab though in Southeastern Ohio.  I work across Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, and therefore get to fish in all three states throughout the year.

Hello I am George or crankbait I am 66yrs. old , retired and try to fish every day if posssible, love to fish for anything that wiggles and fights.

Bass, crappie, trout, catfish and my latest type of fish to fish for is carp found a honey whole on one of my favorite lakes, and me and a friend in the last 3 trips have caught nothing less then 15 lb carp and the biggest was 28 lbs.

Carp are not a glmarous as bass , and crappie but at the sizes we are caughting they can pull and tug very hard breaking so far 17 lb. test line, if you try to horse them.

We take our liquid refreshment and comfortable chairs and just cast out and fish tight line and relax, some dough baits we have tried or
Strawberry jello with dough, Power baits Corn and Strawberry, so far the hottest bait is Wheaties and Vanalia extract with garlic power ....

Best part of Carp fishing only 45 min. from the house and hardly no gas used.

Hi , my name is pete fyfe i live in aberdeen on the east coast of scotland & work as a material co-ordinator on a gas production platform for a drilling company in the north sea . My favourite fishing is sea fishing from either the rocks or beach , favourite fish -- sea bass ,cod , flounder , turbot & pollack . I will be coming to america to visit my sister who now lives in west virginia in february and would dearly love to catch some freshwater bass , as i have seen some tv programmes and it looks like great sport .

First allow me to say welcome to all the new members to the site. HOWDY!

Baseball7 as far as your propulsion goes I run a 1542 and my buddy Waterwings runs a 1648/52? with two trolling motors and we do just fine. Many of our smaller lakes do not allow gas motors to even be mounted on our boats. If you do go gas be sure to check your state regs and the lake regulations. Be careful when your taking a small boat on big waters. Wind can become very dangerous very quickly!

As far as equipment I will let the more knowledgeable guys answer your questions. I can tell you that Bass fishing is a challenging and rewarding sport. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself and remember that even if you don’t catch anything on a particular day you have still learned something.

It has been challenging, lol.

As PH said above, we both use two trolling motors (tm) on our rigs. There's a foot controlled tm on the front, and a hand-controlled tiller-type tm on the back.  WE've both spent a few hours on the water and have done fine.  I use PH's rule of thumb: IF the wind is blowing harder than the length of the boat, we stay home.  The wind will play havoc on an aluminum rig, and once the wind gets to going, so do the waves/choppiness of the water.   How many batteries do you have?

Hi!

Joined the board awhile back; however, I have not been a very good participant.  Have now added the site to My Favorites so I won't forget to stop by.  My name is Dana, but most on the web refer to me as TG!   Live in NW Alabama with my husband and twelve yr. old son.  Husband and I love bass fishing, and our son is into football.  We have two boats in our garage, a Triton and a Skeeter.  We are a house divided when it comes to fishin!   ;D  God, family, friends, business and fishing!  President of a pretty big bass club and senior advisor to a jr. club of abt twenty young men.  I also like to watch HOUSE and PBR!

  • When in doubt, SET THE HOOK!
It looks like it's been a couple of years since I posted on here. That hardly seems possible, but then again, these last 2 years are a blur to me.

My handle is crankb8 and I have been a bass fishing fool since about 1984.

I was an early moderator of the Bass Pro fishing forums, but retired a couple years back and turned the reigns over to Joe and Just4Fun. At one time I lived on these forums and shared everything I knew about this great sport called bass fishing. As life got busier and work got more and more demanding, it takes all I can do to check in from time to time and read a couple of posts. There are sooooo many people and sooooo little time.

Enough reminiscing...it's great to see this site alive and well, and I still apreciate the fact that I can pop in here from time to time and still feel at home with some of the old gaurd still hanging around!

Great to see everyone, and I will do my best to not be such a stranger.
They say you have to be smart to be a good fisherman.
I say all you need is a hook and a dumb fish.  ;)

My name is Don Hardesty, I live in Evansville, Indiana. I'm 71 years old, retired Professional Photographer. I live about 3 minutes from the ramp and fish as often as possible. I am the tournament director for the American Legacy Ohio River Tournament Series. We will fish from ten to fourteen tournament, depending on the condition of the river, this year. If anyone would like to fish with us we'd love to have you. We fish for bass, LM, SM and Ky spotted bass. It's a team tournament but you may fish alone if you wish. If anyone is interested just email me at dshardes@aol.com and I'll see that you get all the information.

This looks like a really neat site and it will take me awhile to figure out how to navigate through it. Thanks for the welcomes and I hope I can add something to the site.
