ABF Qualifiers
« on: November 08, 2007, 11:45:00 AM »
Everyone please look at this page.   One of the ABF qualfiers in on Lake Tuscaloosa this year, and we would love to have someone representing our club fishing it, as well as the others.

Ellis is our District Director so please ask him if you have any questions.

I might have to do this one. I do believe that would be a good time for some hefty sacks to be brought to the scales. I will check into it further!

Really only one day off would be required to check in at Noon on Friday.    The tournament is on a Saturday.
I think the Thursday date they list is for pre-fishing.

You are correct Jackie.
Qualifiers are one day tournaments and are held on Saturday.
The check-in is on Friday.
You can run by the hotel and check-in with Al Redding anytime before lunch.
There will be a 6:00 p.m. meeting on Friday night, at the Belk Center, to pair you with your partner.

I hope some of our members will be able to fish.
For those members that don't fish, I may need some help at the launch and weigh-in that day.

This is a good opportunity for our members to represent the club in a positive way and show support for the TBF.

Good fishing,
Ellis

That does make a difference.  Check in on Friday would be easy.

State Championship
Sept 24-27, 2008
Lewis Smith Lake

The site says: "Must CHECK IN prior to 12:00 PM (NOON) on 25 Sept 2008.", which is a thursday. So I take it that the State is a two day event, fishing fri and sat.

How hard is it to find a place to stay in an event like this concerning when you acknowledge you have made it to the State??(I know you would make resv. in adv. but in general, How hard ....?)

The State Championship is a two day event (Friday and Saturday).
Once you qualify for the State Championship in a Qualifier, then you should make your hotel reservations at a hotel near Smith Lake.

The directors are meeting this weekend in Prattville to discuss 2008 changes, if any.
Form should be online next week.

Everyone please note.

You do not have to be a member of FLW to fish a qualifier, but to advance you do have to be a member and must be a member prior to fishing a qualifier.   So its best to  become a FLW member as soon as you can if you plan to fish one.

https://www.flwoutdoors.com/membership/simple.cfm

You must be at least a Standard Competitor ($25.00 for one year)

If you do join FLW please forward me your membership number when received.

A new option this year....

They will also have a guaranteed boater option.   It will cost the same as the boater option, but you will be required to recruit a non-boater to sign up as well.   (This is similar to the BFL's)

(Jeremy F. this would be your best bet to make sure you get to be the boater)

Ellis,
I have a question on the qualifier forms. Do both the boater and the non-boater fill out one form or two seperate forms checking the premium boater for guaranteed boat? Also what is a guaranteed boat? I have the form ready to fill out, I just wondered about this information.

If you can get a non-boater to sign up also, then you can be a guaranteed boater.

It's still a draw tournament so the non-boater will NOT fish with you.  (Well unless the luck of the draw puts you together)

Ellis, will there be Porta-Potty's (or the like) at the landing during the qualifier on the lake since there are none normally?

Thanks!

Paul,

I have ordered two Porta-Potty's from Spankys.
They should be there on Friday afternoon April 4th.

You should be fishing that Saturday....Not the other.

How many NBC Members are fishing the Lake Tuscaloosa Qualifier?
I would like to have a six man team representing our club.
There is no extra cost for a team sign-up.
