Demopolis Tournament
« on: September 18, 2007, 03:08:56 PM »
I heard today that there is going to be another tournament on the demopolis pool Oct 13 that could have as many as 100 boats. This will be out of the city landing. Has anyone else heard this?

It was like that last year but they put out of the City Landing.   It was very very crowded.  It was impossible to fish the mouth of French's Creek.

It did make it a bit hairy in the morning as a wave of boats headed upriver.  We are a few river miles upstream from city landing so you should be able to get to your best spot first.  All the more reason to blastoff right on time.  The host, if they chose, can have the blastoff point be the mouth of Runaway II creek (i.e. out in the main river) to save time (some of the bigger boats may chose to idle out of Runaway).

It was a BFL I do believe.

It killed me because we were on a big school of fish catching them one after another, and then 50 boats idled between us and the fish going into French Creek.

I concurr, it was a BFL event. I spoke with a couple of them during the day. One of them had broken down and idled from where I was back to the landing (throttle linkage had broken on his basscat.

I sure am going to hate missing this one guys!

Demop really sucks.

Water temp up near the steam plant is 97 deg, and the rest of the river was still 83-87.

I caught a gar, a drum, and two little bass today.

we went saturday and.... it did suck! all of our best spots were desolate. we only caught 5 between us (only 2 over 14"). i guess we would of had about 4.5-4.75 pounds. very windy slow day.
