Getting old I guess
« on: October 14, 2010, 08:11:10 PM »
Some of you may have noticed that I left lake mitchel pretty quick after the weigh in. The reason was that I was in extreme pain in my right leg. I woke up with it that morning and it got worse through the day. Well I laid around all day Sunday and went to the doctor Monday morning. After X-rays and an MRI, I found out I have a herniated disc in my back. Had a lumbar nerve block procedure done this morning in an out-patient surgery. I have to have another one next week. So, I'm still on my back. I can't walk or sit without major pain. No bow hunting tomorrow has got me as depressed as anything but wanted to explain why I walked away without saying much Saturday. I honestly thought I was about to pass out it hurt so much. Anyway, that's my story.

T-rig I once had a bulging disc in my back and woke up in the middle of the night in the fetal position crying. That ain’t something I ever want to go through again!
They were able to correct my problem by putting me on a “rack” and pulling me apart. It took a couple of months of physical therapy to get me back to the point that I could walk again.
I KNOW your pain. Hope you get to feeling better real soon.

PS I was in my 30’s when that happened. That ain’t old!

Sorry to here that your back is hurting - that can't be any fun.  I get spasms and have to be careful to do a series of exercises to keep them under control - certainly know when I don't.

Hope you get feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear you're having those kind of pains, T-Rig. I'm sure it's painful. Several people I know have had nerve blocks this year. My foremans assistant at work is one of them. In fact he had a block done friday. When I was a teenager I picked up a 24ct case of pint sized vinegar (I worked at a local grocer) and immediately hit the floor in pain. They said it was a pulled muscle.

Hope you get feeling better soon!

Thanks guys. Going on day 8 of laying on my back. Going back to work tomorrow and scheduled for second lumbar nerve block on Thursday. Missed entire opening weekend of bowhunting. Very frustrating. Appreciate kind words though.

Hate to here you have been having issues. Been there and done that, I have had two of those miracle shots myself. L4 and in the L5 area, Dr. Horn has really helped me. i Know that some people dont like the crack doctors but this cat is good. Give him a call,  758-2225 use me as a referance. his office is on  uninversity. he loves to fish to.  Hope you get well soon, i need some help with old you know who to,  HILL BILLY ;D
