suuuuupposedly is pretty good in Sept. ;D My old records (that I no longer have in my possesion) pretty much say, that holds true. I hope it does!  Hope we have a good turnout as well, with a bunch of sacks. See you on the water guys!

E_bassfisher and I will be there.  No need to worry about us - its called walk and gun in my boat.  I did change props from a 10 x 13 to a 10.5 x 11 and it really improved performance fully loaded (but 25 hp is 25 hp and is never going to be 250 hp).  To make matters worse, we had a good practice this weekend, which this season means we will be lucky to scratch out two fish during the tournament. ;D

I don't know, maybe you will get lucky and draw the 1# takeoff chip.  I know I'll be last.

Fast I agree. Fast-est, I don't think so. The new "yellow" boat is probably the fastest. It's just that they haven't shown up but for one since they got it. Whether any of them are fast or not does not catch fish ;D. I bought me barge for the platform moreso than speed anyway.

Nip, log at holt...a log about that same size took my first boat out for a while(my old tracker). You didn't hit one did you? I hope not! Sheesh! If you did, I feel your pain!

Don't let'em fool ya crankbait, JackJ's boat runs plenty fast !

Gotta go!

No problem.

Either cross the Lake Tuscaloosa Dam and proceed on New Watermelon Rd until you reach Watermelon Rd.  Just after you pass the gate to the country club you will come to a funny intersection  - Lake Nicole Rd will be to your right and New Watermelon Rd will continue to the left (it looks like a new road to me).  The next right is Watermelon Rd.  Follow Watermelon Rd to Lock 15 Rd, take a right onto Lock 15 Rd, which ends at the ramp.

Or take SR 69 North over Lake Tuscaloosa, about 2 miles past the Lake Tuscaloosa Bridge take a right onto Yellow Creek Rd.  Take the second left onto Barger Rd.  Follow Barger Rd to the intersection of Watermelon Rd.  Cross Watermelon Rd onto Lock 15 Rd, which ends at the ramp.  As you might know, I live one mile for the Country store, which is at the top of the hill after you cross the Lake Tuscaloosa Bridge - it took 16 minutes from the ramp to my driveway via Yellow Creek and Barger Rds.

Just to clarity (and I'll post again next week when I start the Holt tournament thread).

Bylaws allow members to launch at alternate ramps and "arrive by boat" at the launch point (but no locking through).  You just need to be there early enough to allow live well inspection by personal helping the tournament host (so you will be running before safe light).  In this case, Deerlick or any of the three ramps (Eagle Cove, etc.) on the Birmingham side accessed by Holt Lock and Dam Rd might save gas and time.
