Lots of times when I hear how the winners discuss how they caught their fish, I think "that's nice, but how'd they know to do that?". Was it based on conditions, time of year, experience in that area or sheer luck?
That said, I wanted to clarify the "why" to what we did yesterday. I wish I could say that based on the time of year and the day's conditions that we decided to do what we did, but the truth is we would have went to the same place no matter what the weather or time of year. It is solely based on great luck in the same place doing the same thing. I know there are fish there, but can't explain why. No idea.
I know that this helps everyone's learning curve absolutely zilch, but wanted to share so that I can encourage others in the future to expound on the "why" more so than the "how". Of course, not required but I think it is critical if we are to really be a learning club and improve as a group in the sport. Great articles in the "Club Digest" a few months ago on the subject.
To clarify, l think the info we currently share is great stuff and appreciate everyone being willing to discuss. I won't forget you guys when I make it to the big league. haha.
