Lake T fun with the boy
« on: August 31, 2010, 05:20:54 PM »
4lb LM from Lake Tuscaloosa on a  frog. I snagged him but let my boy Gavin drag him in. As you can see, he was pretty happy about it. Guys I'm tellin ya, if ya need a shot in the arm, take a kid fishing. It does wonders for your peace of mind.

Man I was the same way. Gavin will get up at 4am to go fishing everyday if I asked him. He loves it. The heat is the only thing he has ever complained about on the water. He's only seven. He will be my permanent partner in a few years.

Just be prepared guys……… When I first started taking my Grandson fishing it was slow going. He worked hard at it and kept practicing with my bait casters and learning how to present the different baits. Now every trip out he beats me like a drum!
And no I’m not complaining. ;D

Ohhhh man, that's awesome! The look on his face tells it all. How old is Gavin?

My son started fishing with me last year. I just got him a baitcast set-up for Christmas. He can't wait to go.

Congrats to you both.

This was actually taken last year when he was 6. He loves to go "catching", sometimes just "fishing" wears on him. Ha, I guess we all are in that category!

Oh wow, my son just turned 6 last September.

I should have looked at the date of the OP, sorry about that...Darn Newbs.

I made the mistake of carving up a lure last November and my son was flipping thru my BPS cat and saw a prop bait. Guess what I had to build next...LOL

Good luck out on the water with your new fishing buddy this year!

Thanks. I don't want to wish my life away, but I am looking forward to when he is old enough to partner up with me in tournaments.
