I sure do love that place! Lots of memories from that ramp.

Be cool!

we ended up putting in at runaway i really dont see why we dont put in at demopolis or lock 5 theres only one ramp and very limited parking and a long idle over shallow water to the river

You could have suggested it at the meeting.  We have never had a problem at Runaway that I know of.

? There are 2 ramps with plenty of parking and no long idle over shallow water, the river is right there! ..We put in @ the city landing, Is that not where we are putting in @?

No we put in at Runaway, not the city landing.   One of reasons we have always used Runaway is normally we have it to ourselves and don't have to battle with other tournaments.

The only problem with lock 5 is for the people that fish the tombigbee it makes for a long run. If we change it we should change it to demopolis city landing.

it makes a long run for the people wanting to fish lock 5 im not talking about the running part though im talking about the leaving out of the slough at run away part the water is down as low as its been in a long time and probably only get lower we had 4 foot or less water leaving out of there until we got to the river

I was thinking everyone would idle out to the river and take off from there. Is that not what the club normally does?

Yes it is Joseph.

There are some shallow spots up in there.  Just follow some of the other guys out and it wont be a problem.

cut,(guys) if your go straight across the stump flat once you go throught the small cut at the little island near the landing it's going to stay shallow!, so swing to the left near the points and weave the depthes away from the points in the creek channel out to the mouth. Don't go across the flat.

we went to the left going in and it still wasnt much deeper half of our places we tried to hit down river were dry going into the backwater one we pushed the boat in and out and caught a limit in 10 minutes but unless we get a storm we arent making it in there

cut, look at the water levels here :  http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=bmx&gage=wlda1&view=1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1&toggles=10,7,8,2,9,15,6&type=0

That way you can keep tabs on the water level so you'll know what you can get into come time...since you already know what you can and cannot get into now.

Some of the best fishing i've ever had at/around lock 5 was when you could see the ground and stumps on the left side of the slough at the end of the straight away(where you veer to the right and hold the right bank going around) in Praire Creek. There are some stumps out there as big as car hoods!
