New Club Name
« on: November 10, 2006, 07:31:38 PM »
Were changing the name of our club for next year, so help in picking a new name will be appreciated.

I had thought we set it as "Southern Heat Bass Club" at the meeting, but it seems a few dont like it too well so lets keep thinking....

Here are a few...

Shady Banks Bass Club
Lake Point Bass Club
Yellow Hammer Bass Club
River Run Bass Club

Add to the list....

Southern' fine with me but if you want some more names....

Bama Basins Bass Club (not that we would go everywhere,  :))

Lucky 13 bass club(I think that's how many non-saltwater influenced rivers we have in the state, not poz. though)(and lucky to have them ;D)

Perry's Pride bass club (oh, not me! ....one of the first settlers in this area)

Weekend Warrior(s) bass club

T-town tackle toters, uh, bass club.

I thought of that one years ago, crankbait. Never have seen a club w/that name. Might be a little rough sounding for the kiddies and mom though...who knows.

The obvisous one to me is "Tuscaloosa Bass Club"

But having live just over 3 years, there may be so history to that name that I'm not aware of.  That said, here are the names of existing Alabama clubs that I could find:
Alabama B.A.S.S. Federation
Alabama Bass Anglers Birmingham, AL
Birmingham Bass Masters Birmingham, AL
Birmingham Bass Club Birmingham, AL
Cold Creek's Bass Fishing Club AL
Christian Bassmen Club Montgomery, AL
Coosa Valley Basshunters AL
Early Bird Bass'n Anniston, AL
877th Bassmasters Hamilton, AL
Fayette Bass Club Fayette, AL
Master's Bass Club Hoover, AL
Monroe County Bass Anglers Monroe County, AL
North Alabama Tournament Anglers Huntsville, AL
Pine Level Bassmasters Prattville / Montgomery / Maxwell ~ Gunter AFB, AL
Poor Folks Bass Club Boaz, AL
Quad Cities Bassmasters Northwestern AL
Rocket City Bassmasters Huntsville, AL
Redstone Smallmouth Bass Club AL
Tennessee Valley Hawg Hunters Decatur, AL
TMT Anglers Alabama and Georgia
West Alabama Bassfishermens' Association Tuscaloosa, AL

Cheers,

There is already a Tuscaloosa Bass Club, or was unless they disbanded.

Here are a few others that I know exist right now in Tuscaloosa...

Lake Side
Mercedes
BF Goodrich
Bigbee
Black Warrior
ZF Crankers
Lord of the Harvest

I know there are several others that I just cant think of right now...

an accumulative list of names:

Southern Heat Bass Club
Shady Banks Bass Club
Lake Point Bass Club
Yellow Hammer Bass Club
River Run Bass Club
Bama Basins Bass Club
Perry's Pride bass club
Weekend Warrior(s) bass club
Northport Bass Club
Tuscaloosa Bass Club
tuscaloosa bass anglers
Crimson Bass Anglers
Crimson Bassmasters
Cotton State Bass Club
Heart of Dixie Bass Club

which ones do we NOT want, of these? (I've started the process by strikethrough)

My two cents worth (continuing the process by strikethrough).  I've added Blackwarrior Bass Club since more than half of our tournaments are in that watershed.

Already a Black Warrior club.  I posted a few known names of clubs in our area a few post up.

Any that start with Northport or Tuscaloosa would be as confusing as the ones we have now and have the same problem as we have with West Alabama, since there are already clubs with those names.

Should we just set up an online poll to choose
between Shady Banks, Southern Heat, and River Run since all seem to be ok with those?

Or should we keep thinking of new ones?

Ok lets try to set a date to get the name firmed up by the end of this week.

Anyone thought of any more suggestions?

Just for input, there's a old boat repair shop near Louisville (don't know if it's still there) that is called Just Add Water.  How about the "Just Add Water Anglers Club"  ?    ::)

Are we making any progress with the name change? I think I'll gather info from the guys out in the shop and give them a few to choose from and see what they have to say. I think I'll print the last list out and let them look at it. Trying to get the ball rolling again! .... :)or we could just name it and be done with it.
