Pickensville/Aliceville Lake Tournament
« on: February 19, 2008, 04:08:13 PM »
All Members,

Just spoke to Tom Holman with the Mississippi Dept of Fish and Game.
If you are fishing Pickensville/Aliceville Lake you should know the following.

You can fish upriver as far as Mile Marker 322 with a Alabama Fishing License.
If you go above Mile Marker 322 and do not have a Mississippi Fishing License then you are fishing illegal.

Good fishing,
Ellis

Another reminder -  this is the first of 5 army corps ramps - $3 to launch.  You can buy a year pass for $30 from the army corps trailer on Jack Warner parkway in Tuscaloosa.  If you fish the five tournaments and practice once for each you break even.  Good for any of the Corps' ramps.

Also, another reminder that's sometimes easy to forget. We had 2 boats in the Mercedes tourney this past saturday that locked down just to fish below Pickensvillle Dam. They traveled inside the warning signs, and the lock master came out and took pictures of them and told them they had just earned a ticket ( by mail ). He also called our tournament director and told him about the boats that were caught. He said he "didn't really like reporting people, but the Corps was really cracking down on them for not issuing more." So watch those signs!

We need to mention to all the new members that we don't allow locking through also.

Fishing in posted off-limit areas will be reason for disqualification.
