Practice day at Pickensville (with revisions)
« on: September 08, 2010, 02:13:48 PM »
Keith and I went to Pickensville this morning and, met up with an old guy at the boat landing, his name was Red Lavender, and he showed us around. We ended up catching 14 bass from daylight untill two p.m. None of the people we talked to said they caught much of anything so i take that as a good sign. The whole river looks like a mudhole, and everyone said the waters way down there's not a bit of grass anywhere, they just poisoned it for some reason. They still have it set up where you have to idle almost to coal fire creek and we saw the marine police write several tickets.

The End

I know Red Lavender, he's a custom rod builder and he fishes the Mississippi Team Trails I believe or used to I know. I remember him mainly because he pulled a 21' Triton w/ about a '84 model Nissan 2WD Pickup.. ;D The truck couldn't have been worth more than $1000. I believe that he won that boat in a tournament. I believe he still has that same truck and Pulls a Skeeter with it now.

He got a new nissan pick up its a little white one and has an 18 or 19 foot skeeter with a yammie 150 on the back. He's a pretty cool guy and like most older people me told us stories for a hour or so before we had to leave.
