Did anyone from Northport Bass Club pre-fish Aliceville today (3/1/08)?

I fished on the 2nd.  No one there at 6 AM, it was yahoo city at 1:30.  Why would you wait until having your boat on the ramp before firing it for the first time of the season?

Bob, did you do any good? We caught 8 but only 2 would measure but they were good quality fish.

Fishing Aliceville Lake was tough for me this weekend.  It's been several years since I've been there.  It's changed quite a bit since my last trip there.  I found a few fish, but the weather may affect these fish by Saturday.  I'm still looking forward to fishing with you guys!

My primary area was dead - not even yearling bass or minnows visible - fish must have been killed off last summer, it won't reload until the next major flood.  Checked out a new spot and it was only 2' deep - held only yearlings.  Scrambled after that and got 5, nothing to brag about, might have contented for 3rd last year.  You know what that means?  I'm going to struggle all this Saturday (like lucky to catch a fish, struggle).  Unfortunately, E-bassfisher couldn't make it, so we might still have a chance (if the OK practice jinx doesn't rub off on him).
