Speaking of rain; In the last 4 days we have gotten around a inch and a half of the wet stuff. Last time I looked we seem to have been removed from the severe drought range. You guys are still not looking good down your way.

No, no we're not, overall. We really need a good long soaking(like for several days ina row each week for the next, saaay, a year!? However we did get .94 of an inch in one hour last night and I was glad to see it.

Problem we have is that the ground is so dry the slow soakers don?t produce any runoff.
Isn?t this weather something else; last year we were 24? above normal, this year we got to around 9? below normal.
If the long range prognosticators are right we could be in for a rough winter. They are predicting above average precipitation but also saying we are going to be on the freeze/rain line.

We are well below 2 feet! below normal this year.  Only got .39" at my house - seems that drought begets drought - systems just seem to fall apart as they get to us.

RHF, have you been out on the lake lately?  Is it way down still?

The day of our Classic, I went over the dam and there is NO WATER near the top of the dam. A good two feet below the top of it for sure. The little pool at the firing range was nasty looking on the way home that day. Typhoid anyone!?

The .94 came off of the TV 33/40 website, which was on the Alabama (Tuscaloosa) data page. I take it it's information from the Tuscaloosa Airport. I use that page sometimes much like what Carter was talking about in the "A bit of reading?" post. Checking to see what was for the day,... see if it matched some of the numbers regarding fish catching/biting on any given outing. lol. My numbers do not reflect those numbers any his year...bwaaaa!

Yes - I would say 3 feet down - measure the Secci depth on Saturday near Sharps Landing - 18 feet - never seen it past 8 before.

yes,  I took my wife from 12-2 on saturday and using a shakey head jig and a trick worm we both caught 6 spots - no size to them, but still fun the feel the tug on the line.
