Seasons past and future
« on: October 28, 2007, 10:55:37 AM »
Hi all,

First I would like to thank everyone who came out fished with us this season; old members, new members and guests alike.  I think our third season was our best yet.  Members ? keep bringing those guests ? you never know where our next active members are going to come from.

I would particularly like to thank our new members who fished enough to remain classic eligible ? Ellis, Brain, Archie, Shannon, Jay, Dan and Wade ? it is always important for a club to add new active members and it is folks like you that help insure the future of this club.  It was great to get to know you and I hope each of you had enough fun that you can?t wait for the 2008 season to start (I know I can?t, but I do have another addiction to feed (much to the dismay of my loved ones) so the break is welcome (but you know, my duck hunting buddies say that the ducks have as little to fear from me as the bass do).

The 2008 season is upon us ? well the planning and paperwork part anyway.  Are annual organizational meeting will be Saturday November 3rd at 6:30 PM at the Carroll?s Creek Baptist Church.  I invite and encourage everyone to be there ? we will elect new officers, vote on proposed amendments to the bylaws, announce the 2007 awards and Classic eligible members, draw the classic lake and set next year?s schedule.  All current members and any potential 2008 members are invited to attend (although only current members will be allowed to vote on some issues).  We will start with a covered dish supper.  Please bring you 2008 membership application and dues to this meeting ? it helps with planning (note that 2008 membership is capped at 50 (up 10 from 2007)), we are hoping to be able to file of TBF affiliation paperwork right after this meeting and we would like to update the TBF roster only once (early in January).

Thanks again for a great 2007 season and I?ll see you Saturday to put the wraps on 2007 and begin the 2008 season.
