« on: March 24, 2008, 03:47:52 PM »
Hi all,

Do we have enough members fishing to make a team?

From Paul's last post in the other topic (which is getting unwieldy):

Paul
Troy
Jeremy or Jerimie (not sure which)
Ferrell
Chris

Any one else?

Guys,

Think about this.
We have the largest club in our district and six members will not commit to fish a qualifier and in our home town.
We should have two six man teams fishing.

Good fishing,
Ellis

Since the top 50 normally qualify for the state, does that mean all get to go if less than 50 sign up?

Jackie,

Our club promotes learning.
After each tournament the winners are ask to share their knowledge of how and what their fish were caught on.
I have fished quite a few qualifiers over the years.
I have fished as a non-boater in most of them.
I have only fished with two a** h**** of all of the qualidiers I've fished.
That did not stop me from fishing another qualifier.
I have fished with some great guys and still know them as friends today.
If you really want to lean....Fish the qualifiers.
If you are satisified with what you know now.....Stay at our club level.

Good fishing or Better fishing....You choose,
Ellis

I'm not concerned about not having a lot of guys fishing - we are a "low cost" club - and the entry fee is quite a bit bigger than our usual $20 per boat ($10 per angler).

On the other hand, it would be nice to see us field a team.

Of course it would be nice if the club could come out in a big way and support a tournament that one of our members is hosting.

For me, that weekend is the only time I have to head over to Vienna and I desperately need to learn some more about that fishery.

I strongly encourage everyone to fish the qualifiers and represent NBC in them.

For me this has nothing to do with our club other than by being in our club you have the opportunity to fish them if you do desire.

I would love to see someone from NBC win and the more we have fish the better the chance.

Also if the top 50 is still qualifying for the State then this will be one of the best chances to guarantee a spot at the state.   I know several wanted to make it to the state just so that we could say we have fished one even if we didn't do so well.

Ellis I will be there to help in any way possible and I too encourage other members to help out even if you don't fish it.

Hi guys,
I had planned on fishing this tournament but I just got through buying tires for my truck and I replaced the equipment that I lost at the Pickensville tournament plus my gas bill for March was almost $700. So I decided not to fish the qualifier. I hope everyone that does fish does really well. Good Luck guys and I'll see you at Vienna.

I am down to the wire here trying to find someone to sign up with me! I have contacted(or attempted to contact) most everyone in the club(minus, post phone list applicants). Just ONE MORE and we;ll have the six man team.

Can you pay premimum boater spot with no non-boater sign-up?? Or would tyou be forced to be boater/non and hope for boater position? I need to know.

Thanks!

You can actually have a 5 man team from what I understand (or less).

It's just hard to compete against a team that has 6, but theres always a possibility that the 6th man on the other team might zero.

welp! My app is in. so I guess i.m in (there somewhere ;D).

Gentleman...I wish for each of you that are representing NBC/ABF the best of fishing luck. I trust that each of you will be fishing your strength's and will put them to good use sat. for a strong total outcome. This event will truely be a new experience for me.

If I am a no-show, It could not be helped...my Dad is back in the hospital again(as of this moring). He's in ICU.

Hope to see you all Sat., but if not, please understand and catch one for me(and my Dad)(He has caught some good fish from Lake Tuscaloosa himself in his day!)

Hope everything turns out ok with your dad. Sometimes there are more important things in life to deal with than fishing. Though not many. ;D Good luck to all of our members!!

Your welcome!

Now, can someone let me in on what they're doing!? ;D I'mean, I know it's an article, maybe a one liner from me and maybe a picture in the paper probably but I would like to know what the
"angle" is, if I'm allowed to know. I can remember back when BASS did a full interview with 'ol walters on the lake being hometown fav(that has not been mentioned at all to me so I know that's not it)...he didn't do to well if I remember correctly. Maybe I'll get over this rather quickly and just do my thing.(I hope it works out that way!)

Overall...I had a rough day on the water to boot :-[ :'( :tick I did catch a fish or two though :banger

One note to those that I mentioned about finding something interesting a month ago....It has absolutely EVAPORATED! Not one bite from there :'(

I will be out of pocket from now til 9:15 if anyone needs me for anything(club related).(my turn for visitation)

Yall take care!

PP

AAAAAARGH! MY EYES!, MY EYES! Man, I told them to get my good side! ;D.

Went by the Best Western this morning to check-in....they asked me...what are you doing here?? I also had a big clean spanking envelope with all the papers if needed...they laughed at me, lol. Then we talked for a little while. Nice folks! Thanks for turning in our team stuff for us Ellis.

Dad is doing a little better today.

I think the check-in at Best Western was yesterday right?  And you could do that by phone I beleive.

Tonight you have to be at the pairing meeting at 6 at the Belk Center.   I may try to come out there.
