Trailer Jack?
« on: February 03, 2011, 12:55:18 AM »
I think I've asked this question on here before but I'm going to try this again because I forgot the answer and I've already typed this far so and I'm to lazy to search for it. What lb trailer jack would I need to replace the current one on my trailer?

I'm just guessing but I would think a 200# one would be plenty.

Kevin, as heavy as your boat is, I would say you should go with a 1500 lb jack. You definately don't want to go too small and have it fall.

Check this one out.

It depends on the tongue weight.  Can you lift the tongue?  If it were me, I would look at the one I had and then go to the Cabela's website and find one that looked like it.  Depending if time or $ was the concern, you could then go on and search for it cheaper.

My jack is still working fine but it's as old as the boat and I just thought I would buy one of the new ones that fliped up when it's hooked to the boat. I think I will try one of the 1500lb Fulton Jacks. I move my boat quite a bit up and down the driveway so I'm going to try the one with the big rolling wheel.

Thanks for the info!
