Cleaning house
« on: September 19, 2011, 08:29:26 PM »
Well I finished painting the house the wife volunteered me for. Last weekend was spent in Wichita prepping my sister's house which I will paint this weekend coming up. In between times I'm sorting through everything I own, ha ha , and having a garage sale weekend after next.  I'm gonna cut out some fat on this one and it aint comin back.  ;D.  I pretty sure the power painter is gonna be marked way down at the sale.
  I'm slipping away tomorrow to fish with my bud before he has shoulder surgery.
the wife got some bad news today. The portion of the clinical trial she was in has been discontinued because of the failure rate so she will have to undergo another port insertion and receive treatments for another year.  :-[.

she is sad but I do have some good news to report. I'll lay it out after my garage sale in a couple weeks.

Jig Man, I hope you catch enough fish for those of us who can't play right now. PICS!!!

Another true story;

My wife does a lot of “crafting” so she has collected a lot of “stuff”. She keeps it out of the way and hidden in a small room in the basement.
One day after watching some of her communist television (HGTV) she jumped up and ran downstairs. A couple of hours later she started dragging garbage bag after garbage bag out to the garage for the trash pickup.
Finally I could wonder no more and had to ask what was going on. She informed me that she had watched a show called “Hoarders” and that if she was to pass on suddenly she didn’t want our kids to find all this stuff and think she was a hoarder! ::)
Get, you just make sure that my wife doesn’t find out about the power painter!

Steve, tell your wife I said “One day at a time”; She’ll know what I mean.

Thanks for the nice support guys.  On the fishing outing I got waxed 9 to 2. It was still a good time.

Rachel seems to be a bit more at ease today. She appears to have calmed a bit after the bad news. what she will actually be getting is the normal standard of treatment . She just so happened to be in the trial portion that didn't receive this medicine. Since the trial failed she will now undergo the normal medicine used to treat her type of cancer. So it will be another year of treatment. It's a setback but it is manageable .

After the fishing I took my boat over to the marina and put a water impeller in it and left it there for storage so I could clean out the garage for the sale.

after the sale I will have some good news to share and maybe, just maybe Jig Man will have some pics for us, and I don't mean the paving stones.  ;D

Steve good luck on the garage sale.  I need to have a garage bait sale but I think fishermen don't do garage sales they go to the lake.

I wish Rachel well on her treatments.

I did a sneak preview of Pom today.  It was tough.  Maggy and I managed 9 bass and 1 crappie.  Only 3 of them were keepers and the usual banks didn't give up a bite.  I may be in for a tough week but it will beat shoveling dirt and rocks. :laugh:
