Feed 'em S***
« on: September 15, 2011, 04:47:48 AM »
I took a vacation day Wednesday and was visiting with my mother when my phone rang. I answered it even though I knew it was our new, young engineer at work. He asked, Scott did you fix the glass alarm yesterday? Bill said he tried it and it still didn’t work.
I answered with; Kent I’m on vacation today, but yes I fixed it. Can you access the PLC thru the HMI? If you can, look at the ladder and see if you have an input from the Prox.
After a long pause he answered with; “Hey man I didn’t know you were off today. I’ll see you tomorrow”.
My mother asked, “Did he have any idea what you were talking about”?
No! ;D

Good one!  :) .    I've found it helpful on occasions over the years to start rattling-off Navy lingo (acronyms) whenever asked about the progress of something by my upper-level bosses.  I always get a blank stare, a pause, and then they normally repy with something to the effect of......"Uh, okay, let us know if you have any problems or need anyhting".    :)

When I was in college selling women's shoes that was called "double talk".  If it was done right there was no telling how many pairs of shoes the woman whose foot I was massaging would end up buying. >:D >:D

I've been up to my ears in alligators lately with all the projects my wife has volunteered me for lately and haven't had time to sit here and read. Pondhopper, that was just what I needed.

The wife told me the other day she was wishing for a job where she could go to work and perform, then return home and not have any obligations. I responded that to do that she would have to enter the man's world.   ;D
