What a day
« on: October 08, 2011, 10:18:28 PM »
Rachel & I drove up north a bit to look at housing. I noticed the car had a minor vibration which I could feel in the seat at highway speeds. We drove past a couple tire shops and I surmised that I might stop on the way back and have the rear tires rebalanced. I stopped in a shop and got them balanced and they were needing it. When the service guy was finished I asked how much and he said I didn't owe anything. What hospitality ! I was really impressed. I totally didn't expect that. He said come back sometime when I needed tires. I thanked him and left. I had only drove about 150 yards after leaving the tire shop when I started slowing for stopped traffic at a light. BAM !, I got rear ended by some chick and before I could get pulled off the road to check things out she went around me and took off. Like always, I have trouble thinking past the end of my nose, so I took off after her. 10 miles later after speeds of up to 100 mph I did get her tag number and car description. I returned to the police station and made a report.  We weren't hurt, thankfully. It felt like she really walloped us good but the bumper wasn't showing it. Her air bags didn't deploy so I'm not sure how fast she was going when she hit us, maybe 15 or 20 mph.
BTW, I didn't notice any tire vibration at highway speeds or pursuit speeds.  ;D

There are nice people and jerks everywhere you go; it’s odd that you met both within thirty minutes. ::)

Glad to hear that you guys weren’t hurt.

As I was coming in from a lousy day of fishing I almost had some girl rear end the boat yesterday. Now I know that this is going to come as a surprise but, she was talking on a cell phone at the time. :o

Good to hear no damage or nobody got hurt. It happened to my wife who happened to drive my car when I first moved up here. Some chick hit her in the back and then drove around her and took off.My wife never chased her though...she was in shock...lol. There was no damage to the car either. That lady got away,I'm willing to bet she had no license or insurance. I used see it all thew time down in Texas with the illegals down there. The only reason people run, because i don't believe they should be on the road driving in the first place.

Glad no one was hurt, Get!

The only boat ramp i saw was on the north side of the Cumb. river itself was near the mouth of Stones River. Couple of places on up into Stones that looks kinda smallmouthy btw  ;D.(up toward the Lebanon bridge...like i would know, heh!) Anyway, That particular ramp looks to be the only access for that area for several miles any direction.

The road that leads to that access area off of 31 is, uh? ....brb!....it was Neely Road. Road ends at En Peeler Park.
