A wonderful Nov day
« on: November 28, 2010, 06:27:00 AM »
We have been having ups and downs in the weather with more to come.  Lots of wind, rain, and some snow have been the ticket for over a week.

Bear wanted to go fishing on Sat so I took him looking for specs.  We used the downscan and side scan of my unit to locate some likely looking brush in about 25-30 fow.  Using itty bitty shad bodies cut down front and back with the tail splic, we started swimming them into the brush.

We had no more than started when it began to warm  up from the low of 26°.  Every few minutes we took off more wraps until we were down to shirt sleeves and jeans.  The wind barely blew which may have kept the bit down but who knows.

We managed over two limits of 10-15" keeper crappie with probably 20 throw backs and 20+ bass.  It was so nice to be able to sit in the boat and work a cast back without the usual rainbow and flopping around which we have seen most of the time lately.

When we finished it was 54° with a 5 mph wind and blue bird sky. ;D

Yesterday was nice here also; if you don’t count the fact that I “HAD” to clean out the gutters!
Sounds like you guys had a really good day. Got any pictures?

Yesterday I took Bigfoot to Stockton where we had caught a bunch a few weeks ago.  NADA.  There was no shad.

We fished for 2 hours and then loaded the boat and moved up river into the other arm.  We found shad in 30-36 fow and wound up catching 36 keepers along with some short, walleye and bass.
