Did a little carp fishing last weekend for about an hour and got this one on a few pieces of corn.

well my scale only went to 15 lbs and it was reading 2.11 lol, so either that meant 15 +2  for 17 or it was just wacky, I would say between 17-20 lbs  I'm going tomorrow morning, my buddy got two on that trip one a little bigger and one about the same size, maybe we get some slobs..

You mean y'all like catching them sewer bass :ugly ::2

Okay, I admit they are fun to catch and yes there have been several times I would have liked to catch one.

Yep Carter, just hanging on the dock shooting the trash fish, look down and line flying off the reel, close bail and hear the drag start singing. It's a  Nice change of pace once in a while, I did get one yesterday, there were people camping by the dock we normally fish, so I had to try somewhere else, didn't have anyone there yet to take my pic, I did take one of it laying on the dock it looks like it ate a watermelon :o

:o Yikes,..those are some big goldfish!!!   I've heard that they are hard fighting fish,..so bringing in something that size must've been a real hoot!  Nice job Joe!!

My buddy caught this one on a 1/64 ounce hair jig while we were trout fishing. I didnt think he was ever gonna get it in.

Only thing about those carps, they mess up my rods(they bend them like crazy).I already snapped one clarus setting a hook on the carp.It was my fault i had the drag a little tight.

Joe, I have been out to Lake Mead a couple of times and we went out of the dock at Vedas Wash. All around the floating building was a large school of carp waiting for a handout. Apparently people throw bread and other morsels to them.

Speaking of that, I know a good place for doing just such a thing. In the Spring the carp can be found as far back as you can get into the creeks at Lake Barkley. It would be a bowfisherman's heyday.

I just wish someone would set up a few(or more!) night "bow" tournaments over on Pickensville and at Lock 8 to shoot the trashfish out them ;D. We have gar galore, with some nearing the size of ones small boat, in length that is.

Buzz, the last time I was down to Guntersville Lake there was a group having a night bowfishing tournament. I think they over 100 boats in it and all I remember is that they brought in about a ton of fish.

Sneaked out today while the girl and kid was sleeping and before i hadda head off to work,i saw schools of carps! I'm talking 10-20 pounds in groups of 30 or more.

Unfortunately they scared away my school of smallies....talk about a quick 2 hours of fun.I need to do this more often...I had the entire lake to myself on a monday...it was awesome.

my girl thinks i'm addicted....
