I think the biggest recorded is 4 pounds somewhere in U.S.

The ones i catch are barely over 1 pound around here...about 12"-14" in length.
thats something we have bigger than you then!!!!! our biggest perch is 5lb 9oz. thanks for the info grimlin. ;)

Yup,I remember somebody posting up at another board some of those monsters you guys catch.They look to be about the same size as some of our biggest bass here.  :o

Had a friend go last week here in Alabama and caught 50 Crappie on a crappie jig. :) :flag

hi grimlin,to be honest,although the record is 5lb 9oz this is still an extremely exceptional fish,2 to 3lb are fairly common,but a fish between 1 to 2lb is still regarded as a good fish. what i do find interesting is that you have 2 different types of perch,we only have 1 it is found all over britain from bottom to top of the country.
a bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.
