I usually fish year round down here, although I try to plan for the nicer days in the winter.    My body just doesn't do well anymore when its below 40.

Mostly largemouth.  If you find them in a feeding frenzy you can catch quite a few real quick.  For me usually the best time is around 12-2pm

Sissy''s!!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D Come on if it isn't below freezing it isn't fun!!!! LOL

Besides ice fishing, which can be a hoot just hanging out with friends shotting the bs basically just like a campfire but on ice. if the water is not frozen, blade baits work well, suspending jerkbaits, worked slow, small jigs like a float and fly type pattern for crappies which are usually schooled up tight, try and find coves where the bait is and you will have schools of fish following.

My favorite time of year is the dead of winter :o, uh yeah a little stupid to blast off when there is ice sheets everywhere but I love catching them smallies during winter. Those little creatures will jump four or five times when the water temp is in the high 30's  ::).

I fish as long as the water isn't hard.  In the winter I switch species for a month or so and go deeo 40-70' for walleye and crappies to put in the freezer.  Then it is back to jerkbaits and jigs waiting for spring.

I'll fish in the winter as long as the wind isn't blowing.  If I have a day off and the morning low is in the 30's and the afternoon high is in the upper 40's I will be out on the water.

I don't mind the cold but the wind and rain plus cold is what gets me. I know I'm in the south but 30 degrees with rain and wind is cold!!
