Fishing weather!?

One of my 9th graders stated to me that it will be 95 degrees Monday, and if I was going fishing.  I told him not in that heat  :o , I would probably be sitting inside in the a/c   ;D

How many of you fish during high heat periods of the day?

I fish anytime I get the opportunity.   High heat or low cold.

My mood on fishing heat is if I have not gone in a long time I will go.

If the last time I went they were bitting I will go.


Other times I will not go it all depends on the above, and if someone wants to go I will go.

I've been when ice formed in my rod guides and when it was so hot that I thought all my soft plastics would melt. Do I like it? Not particularly but I do go when I can. :)

It all depends on the bite.  If I have reliable info. I don't care what the temp is.  I have fished above 100?f down to -5?f.  I will have to say that the 100?f days produced more than the -5? did.

If the water is cool enough a hot day will stir them up.  One day last year we caught 14 in 4 hours on a 93 degree day, but the water was about 85 degrees.

I go fishing like the postal service delivers mail....it doesn't matter. in florida the temps get above 100f and around 30f in the winter at it's coldest. Rain doesn't bother me (infact, some of my better fishing has been during summer showers).

Just take off the ol' shirt and get a nice tan :) I always fish in shorts, t-shirt, and sandals (reef thong type flip flops). I always forget to take off my sandals when the sun comes out and I have sandal tan lines on my feet. lol
