I bid all a really heartfilled goodbye
« on: March 19, 2010, 08:04:25 PM »
Hey Fellas; Actually I try to stay in the truth ,so I bid most not all a heart felt farewell. Me and the money end and all the product steering that goes on, well we just do not get along. Since that is a primary function of many members and even those associated as mods and such , I have no buisness getting in your business
I dont agree with how that is conducted, i have finished all responsibilities with all. I purposelly stirred crap up in a few other palces and my first internet home, and most associated with it was one of the big disapointments of my internet experience.
I have quit smoking cigarettes and have been on the net less and less,. Walking and now fishing more and more, which is why and how I started fishing
Serenity Bassers is up and running with 18 members, the give away program stronger than ever and 32 reservations for our campout in June. Wehave no speakers ( except for the recovery dinner and campfire meeting), no sponsors with giveaways and "SPEAKERS",aka sponsors selling stuff ( too bad about Pickwick) just a buch of men in recovery helping others

Thanks G man For the welcome but allissues are settled and Take care to those who I was abble to form friendshps with

Muddy ( name offically retired) Dominick is bidding all a farwell

Dude!
I hope that you come back and see this post. I want you to understand how the world really is. I am a friend of Bill W. Have been for over 20 years now. (For those of you that don’t know that means that I am a Recovering Alcoholic)
IF I understand you right you are thinking that it is wrong for anyone to tell you what products they believe in or even use? If these guys don’t share what works for them how do you suppose I will learn anything, Devine intervention, osmosis?
Recovery is all about learning how to live in the REAL world. Self delusion is just as harmful as the chemicals we used. You keep thinking the way you are now and you are going to fall. I truly hope that doesn’t happen!
Feel free to PM me if you like. I warn you though, I don’t wear gloves.

Iam very uncomfortable as a 59 year old man to have someone address me as dude, especially from a 61 year old man.I don't play with gloves either, and I have been in the recovery process for 18 years now.I am constanlty in the mix to learn how the world really is, having spent so much of my life in the delussion I had all the answers, even while i was sitting in a jail cell. I respectfully ask you to read this and to back way down with your attitude sir, i dont know you from a can of paint , this does not mean I wll allow you to S^$T All over me.
I find it particularly repulsive, in open forum your little warning about me falling. So I will qualify myself, I am a member of a 12 step program, attending several meetings weekely, I take this message into prisons on a weekly basis , I am sponsored and sponsor other men. How arrogant can you get? You think a man who is stepping out of something, he tried, did not understand, then grew to know that he did not belong where he had put himself for 4 years a sign he is going to fall, thats just pitiful, what more can i say. My misunderstnding of the internet process caused me and those I argued with , unfair duress and it is I who was at fault, so I am removing myself.
I have learned to fish over the course of a lifetime, having been exposed to great Atlantic Ocean fishing growing up in Brooklyn and the whole Upstate NY water shed area. I was taught, live by some really great fishermen. In Fisherman Show and Magazine and i enjoyed the Bill Dance show as a child. What part of my post leads you to believe that I am closed minded, self-sufficient or that I expect all to learn by osmosis?
What I am talking about is the amount of folks who are on pro staffs, or sponsored by major tackle corporations who constantly steer folks to their sponsors tackle, no matter what

Look G-man makes fine jigs, mentions it subtly, when its appropriate and lets it go at that. Beautiful thing!
There is a mod from " the greatest source on the net" who will answer a new bee question about a 80 buck rod, and he recommends 200 dollar Avid, he recommends Stella Spinning equipment and Curado reels for most any question. Shimano was a sponsor of the site he works for,
He is currently all over the net pushing Strike Kige/Ragertail products, again a site sponsor for where he works. HE HAS NOTHING IN HIS SIGNATURE STATING THESE RELATIONSHIPS>
There are countless reel mechanics, rod builders and tackle manufacturers, with a lot of guys on the inter net steering, many do it themselves.I have been at odds way too many times, and have hijacked threads trying to point this out way too many times. I was however told by a nice young man on the boards that this is one of the exact intents of the internet business. This was my bad, If they own it its thier rules , I dont agree with their rules and have no right acting this way , now understanding this is the way things are, so it is the right thing to do, now that i understand and dont agree.
I have come to understand that this is one of the ways these sites stay free and how dot com forums make money. I am not in agreement with this, I feel it is an accepted hustle, just one step up from a street con
I would have sent you a PM but you answered this is a pretty disrespectful way, and this is another reason I am leaving the net. It is hard for me to discern how or what a man is feeling behind a typewriter, I have misread and had to apologize myself
So I do better in the real world. Having spent more time away from the key board I have quit smoking ( 2 packs a day) this last summer, finished My College Degree,I am walking more and fishing more. I am currently interviewing to change jobs, and to move home to Brooklyn as I am about to also get married. These things are what is now important, so before you go off on a tirade, you should ask, he what did you mean by that? I was vague as I was trying to be polite and not print an indictment of all the folks on these forums. I MUST SAY THE EVIDENCE IS THAT I AM CONSTANTLY LEARNING HOW THE WORLD IS. I was somewhat naive on what was going on in the Internet world, I should have stuck to the concept THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH IN AMERICA! ::)
This is it, I was trying to delete my accounts, as i see you cant because MEMBERSHIP COUNTS affect the value of these sites, like traffic, length of stay and hits.

Muddy, If you read this............... Do you know about rule 62? I have had some unpleasant challenges regarding my internet participation. I have refined a perspective which allows me to contribute something positive and absorb a whole lot that benefits me. I enjoy being the biggest duck in the puddle and because of that my mouth gets me in trouble all too often when I was not wanting that.

I tend to agree to some extent about some bias present on some of the boards. I treat it like anything else when I can. If I spot it I try to recognize it for what it is and use what is helpful. Before I actually initiate anything else I really need to check my motives. This process has been helpful for me.

It sounds like some good things are happening for you and if moving away from the boards is part of that so be it. I personally wish you well and hope 2010 is a good year for you.

Bass don't eat what they don't see.

Dominick (can't call you Muddy anymore because you ret'd that name):

Here's my two cents worth:  Go to any community site on the internet that has a membership list, and you'll see 100's -1000's of names of "members" that "belong" to a site.  Then look at the regular posters.  A world of difference between the two.  If advertising/sponsorship is not for you I can understand that, but it (ads/sponsors) is what makes these sites continue, just as you stated in your post.  I've seen a lot of people post farewell messages on sites, which is their perogative, but most just quit posting and they fade into the background.  Now, if you're out there not logged-on and reading this, I sincerely wish you success in your present and future endeavors.

Adios muddy.  See you around some other forum sometime, maybe. ::)

BTW:  I'd rather have someone call me dude than mook any day of the week and I am older than you or ph.

I'm just as confused cutbait.   Rarely do I see any product pushing here, because we do not allow it except from our paying sponsors, and there arent many.

It takes that to keep a site running, and with all of those, there are only about 3 or 4 which is much less than most sites.

In my couple of decades of having forums, the only time someone post a farewell message is because they are looking for attention for one reason or another (maybe not enough people posted responses  their post) or are digging for a certain response.  (Not saying thats always the case, but pretty much most of the time)

If this site isn't for you then so be it.   We cant please everyone, although we wish we could.

And if someone recommended you a Curado, over a cheap reel, then you had better listen!!  Because he was saving you money in the long run.

Good luck to you Muddy but as I have worked in the sales industry for many years I can tell you this that everyone is in the sales industry. Wheather you work in production, customer service, administration, managment, farming  or whatever industry it is the people selling the product your company has is what is keeping you getting a check. Best of luck to ya and come back soon.
