JigMan Sac River
« on: May 17, 2011, 09:35:51 AM »
JigMan, I got a question for ya. When I go to Springfield sometimes I come on 54 Hy and then at Collins go south on 13. On 54 hy not too many miles west of 13,  maybe 20 or so I cross the Sac River. About 2 weeks ago when I crossed there were about 5 or 6 cars parked near the bridge. I assume they were fishing the river. Yesterday when I crossed again there were 3 more cars parked there. Does this feed Stockton ? What do you think they were fishing for ?

That is below Stockton and feeds Truman.  Up that high they must be jets.  We have put in at Hwy 82 bridge at Roscoe a bunch.  It is good walleye, hybrid, white bass and crappie areas.  It is just a few miles to where it dumps into the Osage.

I haven't been there in 2 or 3 years but it is a good spring spot.

These were just vehicles, no boat trailers. For some reason I thought that went to Stockton. I didn't realize it was coming from Stockton and on its way to Truman. I'll have to dig out my maps.

Steve both Sac rivers originate around Springfield and run north to Stockton.  We are about 1200' above sea level and Stockton Lake is 867.  Everything is down hill from where I live.
