Well, the wife and I went back to our local lake to try our luck again. Got there at 5:45pm and left at 8:30pm. I had one small bass bite but it got off the hook about 3' from the bank. Wife hooked a small bluegill which also freed itself near the bank

.
Here are the baits/lures I tried over the course of the evening (varied retrieve speeds and fan-casting different locations from the bank):
Listed in random order-Shakit (black w/blue flake). hooked the bass on that one

-Culprit 7.5" crawdad worm
-Buzzbait (chartruese/white skirt)
-Riverside 8" worm
-Beavit (redbug)
-ZipIt (blue w/silver flake)
-Riverside 5" senko look-alike
-Rattl-Trap
-Heddon Tiny Torpedo
Lots of people there and no one was catching a thing. Had a storm come through last night so maybe that had something to do with the lack of bites. Oh well, the weather was nice and we were outside
