Rainbow trout
« on: May 19, 2011, 08:08:10 PM »
RossD, in the original "rainbow" post down below gave me a few rainbows they caught a week ago. I've never eaten any rainbow trout and i surely don't know the best way to cook them. Anyone have a good recipe for a first timer? (uh, they are de-headed, gutted, skin on, washed and in the freezer frozen in a bit of water)

Thanks guys!

Buzz, you wanna fry 'em, bake 'em in the oven or grill 'em? I have recipes for all of the afore mentioned methods.

Lemme know and I'll post a recipe for you as soon as I find your reply.

I prefer baked or grilled, either one.

Thanks Jim!

We used to fry them but now days when I catch them I smoke them.  They are almost as good as smoked walleye.

the best way I have done it is grilled on a Himalayan salt plate with redfish blackened seasoning.  I fillet all of mine.  MMMM MMM Tasty.  Best fish I've ever had
