Rating yourself in fishing
« on: August 02, 2008, 09:56:37 AM »
Thought I'd run a poll about where you'd grade yourself in basic fishing knowledge (lure selection, knowing peak fishing times, varied fishing techniques, etc).

I see myself as a 2.........maybe a 2.5   ::)     :)

Why shoot, I'm a genius when it comes to fishin'. I always know where they are but it seems like I don't always know how to catch'em ::2

I have tons of fishing knowledge, just not smart enouh to apply it on the water.  I am guilty of fishing the way I want to catch them, not the best way to catch them under current conditions.

Okay, after reading the replies above, I've decided I'm a 3. I know how to do it, just can't apply it satisfactorily   ;D

After practicing for two days on a naturally tough deep clear lake, that I've never been to until yesterday, I kind of feel like a novice today for some odd reason.

You did say basic, right!? ;D

I think that I am quite knowledgeable about catching bass.  The problem is that the bass just don't agree with my knowledge.

I rated myself a 4.

I have the confidence in myself, to put a plan together to catch fish and make the decisions or changes necessary to find and catch them. Getting better and better every year.

Dang, do we not have any experts on here?   ;D

I was always schooled that an “Expert” is a drip under pressure.

If it were put to a vote, and from what I have seen, Jig Man is the “numbers” guy , with J4F being the “big fish” guy.
